Strong pitching by Brandon Sevre and Mitchell Mossman and big hits by Craig Steiskal led the Zimmerman Thunder to a sweep of the Becker Bulldogs on Thursday in Becker.
The Thunder (3-5) won the opener 4-3 in eight innings, with Stieskal’s squeeze bunt in the top of the eighth sending home the go-ahead run. Steiskal also rapped a two-run double.
Sevre pitched all eight innings, going up five hits and three walks, striking out seven, with just one earned runs allowed.
Mitchell Mossman threw a five-hitter as the Thunder completed the sweep 6-2. He stuck out six and walked one. Steiskal tripled to drive home two runs. Taylor Snow was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Cory Jopp was 2-for-3.
The Thunder have two games at Fridley on Saturday.
