WSB and Associates of Minneapolis has been hired to update the city of Elk River’s comprehensive plan, which dates to 2004.
WSB’s proposal of $68,446 was the lowest of five submitted. They highest was $79,782. The city had budgeted $80,000 for the work.
Elk River Community Operations and Development Deputy Director Jeremy Barnhart told the City Council that they wanted a strong public outreach component in the plan update process, and WSB had the best presentation in that area.
The City Council voted 5-0 Monday, May 6, to approve WSB as the consultant. The council also agreed that council members Barb Burandt and Paul Motin will serve on a Citizen Advisory Committee overseeing the plan update.
