Kathi Opsdahl banged out six hits, including two home runs, as Elk River softball continued to rumble with victories of 13-4 and 10-0 over Armstrong on Monday in Robbinsdale.
The Elks amassed 32 hits, 16 in each game, led by Opsahl, senior outfielder, going 6-for-8 with a double, two homers, and seven runs-batted-in.
Jess Neuman was 5-for-8, Austyn Beese 5-for-9, Courtney Jensen 4-for-7, Anna Pipenhagen 3-for-5 with a homer and triple, and Ali Krohn 3-for-6 in the two games.
The Elks have outscored their last five opponents 56-4 with four shutouts. They are 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the NWSC.
Pipenhagen, the winning pitcher, and Opsahl homered in the 13-4 victory. Pipenhagen gave up six walks and five hits, fanning six. Kendra Rooney knocked in two runs for Armstrong. Caitlyn Wachsmith pitched the distance for the Falcons.
Opsahl had four RBI and Beese and Neuman two each in the five-inning, 10-0 win. Olivia Wolters picked up the victory with three scoreless innings, striking out four. Pipenhagen pitched the first two as they combined for a two-hitter with six K’s. Wachsmith and Sammy Smith pitched for the Falcons.
The Elks will host Andover on Wednesday.
