Lacrosse: ERZ girls are 3-0 after nipping Rebels 12-11

Emily Antony led with five goals and two assists as Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman stayed unbeaten with a 12-11 win over Champlin Park at home Wednesday evening.

ERZ (3-0) had a 12-9 lead before the Rebels (1-1) scored two late goals.

Starting goalkeeper Cassie Conrad is sidelined after taking painful shot to her thigh in the last minute of the previous game. Coach Stephanie Anderson turned to Michelle Klimstra (7 stops, 5 goals allowed) in the first half and Kim Scott (5 saves, 6 goals allowed) in the second half. Klimstra and Scott are hockey goalies for Rogers and Elk River, respectively.

Mackenzie Perna added three goals and three assists. Kelsie Baker, Klimstra, Holly Skalsky and Alix Zierden each had one goal. Alleah Baltzer made two assists.

Anderson cited the defensive crew of Marissa Soppeland, Courtney Reistad, Skalsky, Scott, and Baltzer with a solid game.

ERZ will play at Anoka on Friday.
