Henry John “Heinie” Milless, 92, Elk River


Henry John “Heinie”  Milless,  age 92 of Elk River, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on April 29, 2013.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Flora; 4 brothers, 4 sisters and son-in-law Jerry Moos.

Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ora; children Cheryl (Ray) Jarnot, Linda (Mark) Dryden, Brenda Milless, Janet (Terry) Conwell, Randal (Margaret), Marcia (Walt) Schwartz, Rhonda West, Perry (Michelle) and Jason (Karlene); 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

WWII Army Air Corp vet, member of the 312 Bombardment Group.  He was selected to go on the first Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
Owner of Fairway Foods and Crow River Meats in Rogers, where he was a butcher for 43 years.  He was a volunteer firefighter in Rogers,  taught MN Firearms safety for 19 years and served on the Rogers’s city council for many years.

In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing; dabbled in woodworking. He loved to play cards with his friends and family.

Mass of Christian Burial at noon Sat., May 4, 2013, at the Church of St. Andrew 566 4th St. NW, Elk River. Visitation 2 hours prior to Mass at the church on Sat.

Interment Ft Snelling National Cemetery Monday May 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Assembly Area #1.
