Brienna Dehkes, goalkeeper who was Elk River’s soccer MVP last fall, will continue her career as a scholarship player at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall.
“Brienna is one of the most athletic goalkeepers I have seen for a person with her height,” Mustangs coach T.J. Bucholz said. “Along with her athleticism, she also has an excellent knack for holding onto well-driven balls. Those qualities can make her a strong force in our program for the next four years.”
Dehkes had a 1.3 goals-against average and .828 save percentage as a senior.
Buchholz has led SWSU to 5-11-1 and 7-9-1 records the past two years after taking over a program that was 1-11-4 the year before he came. He has signed 12 players this spring.
