College athletes: DeZiel 12th all-around at NCAA gymnastics nationals for Nebraska

Jessie DeZiel, Nebraska sophomore gymnast from Rogers, earned second-team All-America status in all-around and vault at the NCAA meet April 18-19 in Los Angeles. Her 12th-place 39.425 included  9.85 bars, 9.875 beam, 9.85  floor and 9.85 vault. Last year, she placed 11th all-around. DeZeil was one of three Cornhuskers at nationals, along with Emily Wong (first-team All-American) and Brittany Skinner.
Morgan Pierson, sophomore from Rogers, is a midfielder on the Regis (Colo.) University lacrosse team, playing a defensive position. Her team has a 10-5 record.

Sam Krick, Upper Iowa University baseball freshman from Elk River, has played in 13 of 29 games and is hitting .257 (9-for-35) with two home runs and nine RBI.
