Retired from custodial work for Dist. 728 at age 62. Worked for Hoffman 13 years and farmed the majority of the rest of his years. Served in Korean Conflict in 1951 and 1952.
Preceded in death by his brother, Kermit; father, Leslie and mother, Mary. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doris (nee Winterfield); children, Kyle (Janet), Michael (Marissa), Karin (Paul) Chambers; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also his brother, Vernon in Kelso, Wash.; sister, Rena Ratzloff in S.D. and sister-in-law, Hannah in Elk River.
Memorial was held at 2 p.m. at 1st Baptist Church in St. Francis on April 14, 2013.
He will be remembered for his quiet ways and dry humor. Always came away knowing a bit about his encounters and leaving them with a new joke a two.
