Marion Ruth Snare, 87

SnareSnare
Marion Ruth Snare, age 87 of Buffalo, MN passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, at Guardian Angels Nursing Home in Elk River, MN.

She was born on December 17, 1925, on the family farm in Greenbush, Lind Township, MN to Fred and Esther Olson Hagen.  Marion had six brothers and five sisters.

At the age of fifteen, after earning enough money, Marion moved to Seattle, Washington with her sister Lorraine. Even though she was there for only a brief period, she had many great adventures and loved sharing stories from the Seattle experience.

She moved back to Greenbush and married Adrian Snare on May 31, 1946.  God blessed their marriage with five children: Alan (Sylvia), Kerry (Connie), Noel (Mary), Julie (Bob) and Scott (Laura).

Every evening at 6:00 p.m. the Greenbush city siren sounded and all of her kids knew they had better be home for dinner.

Not only did she love and take care of her family well, she also offered her ear and home to anyone who needed her.

Following her husband Adrian’s death in 1978, and her youngest child’s high school graduation in 1982, Marion left Greenbush and moved to Bemidji, MN. She dedicated her time there to helping young adults with special needs.

Marion and her youngest child, Scott, decided to move to Buffalo, MN in 1984.  She resided there for most of her remaining years and often dedicated her time to helping her children and grandchildren. Marion always knew she had a bedroom in each of her children’s homes.

After thirty-two years of this, she decided to get her own place at Guardian Angels in Zimmerman.  She valued her independence and making new friendships there.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian Snare; siblings, Dee, Hugo, Lorraine, Lief, Jerry, Dale, Randy, Wally and Karen; and by her granddaughter, Jessica Snare.

Funeral services for Marion Snare will be held on Friday, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
