STING BASEBALL

Coach — Kurt Remick
Opener — April 11 at St. Croix
Probable top players — Jake Mitchell (sr), Jordy Ildvad (sr) Hunter Boadwine (sr), Tristen Rosby (jr), Christian Rieck (so), Josh Scherer (so), Fraser Brown (so)
Coach says — “First-year team … A handful played last year with PACT co-op. We have 21 student athletes (three seniors, one junior, three sophomores, seven freshmen). … Jake Mitchell and Jordy Ildvad will pitch and play an important part in outfield and at the plate.  PACT coach said they were big losses for them. … Sting baseball will be a hard-working team that loves to play the game. … Home games at Nowthen field.”

STING TRACK

Coach — Rick Peterson
Last year — Girls 1st in conference, boys 2nd
Opener — April 9 at Maple Grove
Girls returning leaders — Becca Schultz (sr, 400), Becca Peterson (jr, 3200), Kayla Zimmerman (jr, 800), Sarina Staurseth (so, hurdles)
Will also help — Anna Nielsen (sr, hurdles), Jaden Magnuson (sr throws), Brittney Waterhouse (so, distance), Rachel Goldsmith (so mid distance), Noelle Diekman (fr mid distance), Lorna Bechtel (8th, hurdler)
Boys returning leader — Kal Diekman (sr, hurdles)
Will also help — Ian Neitzer (sr sprints), Alex Kopp (sr throws), Ben Maki (so sprints),  Caleb Rieck (so sprints), Scott Hagen (fr sprint), Nate Hackbarth (distance), Ben Harvey (distance), Zach Anderson (distance)
Coach says — “We will return our entire team from last year, plus more depth. If all goes well, both our girls and boys should be able to compete for conference championships.”
