Scouts delivered 103 boxes of donated Girl Scout cookies to the CAER food shelf in Elk River this week.

The girls are with Zimmerman Brownie Girl Scout Troop 16162. While they were selling Girl Scout cookies this year, they asked customers for donations to purchase cookies to donate to CAER. Each girl who collected at least six donated packages earned a special badge.

Anna Tighe, Karly Hermanson, Megan Hazeman and Sadie Benjamin of Troop 16162 delivered the cookies to CAER on Monday, March 25. CAER Executive Director Carmen Pouliot accepted and weighed the cookie donation and gave the Scouts a tour of the food shelf, located at 19279 Watson St. in Elk River.

“Girl Scout troops in the area have always been incredibly supportive of CAER,” Pouliot said. “Each year they bring us the cookies that they have been unable to sell as well as cash donations from their customers and from the girls themselves. Our clients are delighted to receive them and so are we.”
