Marian Alice Harding was born July 27, 1917, in Montevideo the daughter of Ralph and Bess Lighter.
She passed away March 10, 2013 at the Guardian Angels by the Lake in Elk River.
In 1938 she was crowned Miss Montevideo. She attended Brady and Rogers School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis and then returned home to manage Myrtle Beauty Shop. On July 7, 1940, Marian was united in marriage to Wayne Harding. Marian and Wayne raised their family in Montevideo where she was active in homemakers club and Ladies Trainmen of Milwaukee Railroad Club. Marian was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking for her family.
Marian is survived by her children, Scott (Sharon) Harding of Watertown, Brian (Diane) Harding of Rogers, Jack Harding of Cathedral City, Calif. and son-in-law David Gardner of North Pole, Alaska; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Harding, daughter Gayla Gardner and sister Glenis Harding.
Memorial services will be held on March 15th at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.
