Ardyce Fay Dobel, 64, of Zimmerman passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at her home.
Ardyce was born May 6, 1948, in Minneapolis the daughter of Norman and Arlys (Gatz) Gerlach.
Ardyce married Harold Dobel on June 4, 1966, at Golden Valley Methodist Church. She was a Cook for Elk River School District #728 for 32 years. Ardyce loved traveling to places such as Deadwood, S.D., Black Hills, S.D., the North Shore of MN and Branson, MO. She also enjoyed cooking, making fabulous potato salad, Scotcheroo Bars and was famous for her “Taco Nights”. Ardyce loved board games and would play until she won. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ardyce is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Kim (Mark) Peterson, Chris (Angie) Dobel, Karen (Greg) Schweninger, Kenneth (Lori) Dobel; mother, Arlys; siblings, Ramona Doebler, Lorayne Norgren, Norman “Skip” Gerlach, Jr, Rodney, Keith, Kent and Kevin Gerlach; grandchildren, Katelyn and Cody Schweninger, Lucas Peterson and Hailey Dobel and many nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
Ardyce was preceded in death by her father and nephew, Chad Gerlach.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Freshwaters United Methodist Church- River Campus in Princeton. Rev. Loren Ferch will officiate. Relatives and friends may gather one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
