Betty was employed by Benet Academy in Lisle as Head of Food Service for over 25 years.
Betty was born March 25, 1927, in Escanaba, MI and finished High School in Iron Mt, MI before moving to work in Chicago. Betty and Herb Duggan met in Chicago and were married June 12, 1948, in Iron Mt, MI. They lived for over 50 years in Lisle, IL until moving to Dixon, IL in 2002. Herb and Betty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12, 1998. They attended St. Joan of Arc Church in Lisle, IL and St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, IL. Later in life, Betty took up painting and was an avid painter with many praising her work as very good and excellent with colors. Her work is on display at Guardian Angels Care Center.
Betty’s survivors include her son, Richard R. (Judith) Duggan, Zimmerman, MN; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Dale and Midge (Howard) Plante; and James (Lynn) Dale, her brother of Iron Mountain/Kingsford, MI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, “Peggy” Dale, mother, and George Dale, father; brothers, William and Robert Dale; and son, Herbert Duggan Jr.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8th at the Guardian Angels Care Center.
