Elk River blanketed by snow — again

Snow that began falling on Monday and continued on through Tuesday prompted the Elk River Area School District to close its doors. School children cheered, but some are asking for mercy.

Elk River picked up seven inches of snow in the two-day event, according to Steve Ziemer of Elk River Municipal Utilities.
