The Elk River boys earned the No. 2 seed in Section 8AAAA basketball and will open at home Tuesday against St. Cloud Tech.
The Elks are 18-8 with a three-game win streak that includes a 47-46 upset of No. 2 ranked Osseo. Tech, seeded seventh, is 8-18.
Rogers (10-16) has the sixth seed and will play at No. 3 Moorhead (16-8).
Brainerd, 25-1 and ranked No. 8 in the state, is the top seed. The Warriors won a regular-season meeting with the Elks 58-36.
Rogers will host No. 8 Bemidji (2-23) and No. 4 Buffalo (19-7) will host No. 5 St. Michael-Albertville (17-9).
Semifinals will be Saturday at St. Cloud State, with the Brainerd-Bemidji winner facing the Buffalo-STMA winner at 6 p.m., and the Elks-Tech winner facing the Moorhead-Rogers winner at 8 p.m.
Finals will be held the following Thursday at a neutral site.
