The Spectrum boys closed the regular season with an 85-49 win over Hope Academy at home Thursday evening. The final home basketball game of the season was also a Heart Association event.

The Sting (6-19) had six double-digit scorers as Niki Mayer had 19 points, Austin Kurilla 16, Zach Knollenberg 16, Evan Emmel 14, Jake Mitchell 11, and Ben Maki 11.

The school made this a “red out” night in conjunction with a Heart Association event and fundraiser. About $1,600 was reportedly raised. Fans wore red clothing. The players donned long red socks. The chairs for players were draped red fabric. Dozens of hearts adorned the wall behind the bleachers.

The Sting are seeded 8th in Section 5AA and will open at top-seeded St. Cloud Cathedral  next Thursday.
