Elk River High School High School recently held Snow Week, a week-long bonanza of fun, fundraising and recognition for the school’s wide and varied list of student groups.

Snow Week has catered to student groups with the high school for the past 10 years, giving each group a chance to pick a Snow Week king and queen, so to speak, and one is recognized with distinction.
That group this year was Link, which was chosen for its efforts to help raise about $3,000 for scholarships. That total is derived the monies earned during student council-sponsored activities during homecoming and Snow Week.
“I think its great how all the groups work together to make this such a success,” said Sonja Weiler, the school’s DECA adviser.
DECA puts on Snowstorm, the school’s talent show and a nice lead in event to the school’s Snow Week pep fest. This year the event raised another $5,000 for muscular dystrophy. The group will be giving MD a check for $7,500 after it pools the money it made during Snow Week and its first mud run.
