Basketball: Big Lake rules 2nd half, beats Rogers boys 75-64

The Rogers Royals cruised in the first half but Big Lake stormed back in the last 18 minutes to win 75-64 on Thursday evening in Rogers.

Sam Dokkebakken poured in 27 points and Austin Poe added 21 for the Hornets (5-3 conference, 14-9 overall), with Poe scoring 19 in the second half to lead the rally.

Rogers, which beat Big Lake 82-74 earlier, had a 42-28 lead at halftime. The Hornets dominated the second half 47-22, getting to the rim repeatedly and shooting free throws well.

Ryan Gelle scored 18 points for Rogers (3-5 conference, 9-15 overall) with Cullen Loughlin and Gunnar Bloom adding 11 each. The Royals had a poor game shooting 3-pointers as they fell behind.
Rogers will  host Buffalo on Tuesday, with game time moved to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate a girls basketball playoff game starting 7:30 p.m
