Stewart Wilson has been sworn in as Elk River’s newest council member.
City Clerk Tina Allard administered the oath of office to Wilson at the start of the Tuesday, Feb. 19 City Council meeting.
The council had voted last week to appoint Wilson to fill the remainder of Nick Zerwas’ Ward 1 council term, which runs through Dec. 31, 2014.
Zerwas resigned to serve in the Legislature.
In addition to being on the council, Wilson will retain his seat on the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority. He also will serve on the city’s Economic Development Authority and as the council liaision to the Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission.
