Nicholas Peter DeGreeff, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home, with his wife by his side on Friday, February 15th.

He was born on July 25th, 1927, to Peter and Clasina DeGreeff in Dell Rapids, SD. He grew up on a farm in Chandler, MN. After service in the US Air Force, on June 4, 1951, he married Delores Margaret Homan, in Slayton MN. After several years of farming in Chandler-Lake Wilson area, in 1960 he moved to Big Lake, and in 1963 he built his first home close to Elk Lake. In 1995 Nick built his second home in Zimmerman. Nick worked in all areas of construction and finished his career building Weston Homes throughout central Minnesota. Nick was known for his love of music, dancing, woodworking, golf, cribbage, fishing, BBQ’s and spending time with his family and grandchildren, and the many stories and jokes. He was a founding member of the Zimmerman Lions Club and a member of the American Legion Post 560.

Nick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dee, and 8 children, Chuck (Sue) DeGreeff; Rhonda (Dave) Greenlun; Deb Neznik; Dan DeGreeff; Patty (Bob) Lundgren; Tom (Rose) DeGreeff; Nick (Judy) DeGreeff; Joe (Penny) DeGreeff; 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, son Bob DeGreeff, son-in-law Joe Neznik, and grandson Sammy Joe DeGreeff.
