A young woman may want to wear her dress for a high school prom only once, for that special event.
But there can be value in a prom dress to be worn again, to be recycled.
For the second year, Sherburne County 4-H will host a recycled prom dress sale in time for the spring prom season, and is taking donations of cleaned, gently used, formal and semi-formal dresses and shoes, along with purses and accessories, to fill an inventory for the sale Saturday, March 9.
Volunteers for 4-H are arranging a drop-off site for those donations (all are tax-deductible) and they would also be willing to pick up donations from contributors, through Friday, March 1. For more information on drop-off or pick-up for dresses or other goods, call 4-H program coordinator Joe Rand at 763-765-3077 or email email@example.com.
The annual sale, open to all students and parents who will anticipate prom season, is scheduled 8 a.m. to noon March 9 at the Sherburne County Government Center, 13880 Business Center Drive N.W. in Elk River.
Proceeds from the sale support Sherburne County 4-H youth development programs.
