Basketball: Morrell leads Elk boys over Andover 69-57

Porter Morrell led with 28 points as the Elk River Elks beat Andover 69-57 on Friday evening in Andover.

Morrell, senior point guard, made 13 of 14 free shots and was 3-for-5 on 3-pointers.

The Elks cashed 28 of 34 free shots with Clay Elrod 6-for-6 and Bryan Edwards 5-for-7.

Elrod scored 17 points, Edwards 9, Zach Ernst 6, Terry Hadden 5, and Max Person and Isaac Howard 2 each.

The Elks are 10-4 in conference and 15-5 overall, while the Huskies drop to 4-11 conference, 5-15 overall.

The Elks will play at Champlin Park on Tuesday.
