Brittney Dorn and Tommy Como were leaders of the Rogers contingent  of the Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman team at the Section 2 meet Thursday.

Dorn placed 22nd to lead the Royal girls. Como placed 28th to lead the boys, at Theodore Wirth Park in Robbinsdale. Both are juniors.

The Rogers boys placed 11th among 12, with three entrants, and the girls  placed 12th among 13, with four entrants. A full lineup is seven.

“We’ve got a lot more (skiers) than in the past at Rogers,” said Dorn. “It’s fun to break off (and compete alone). We are an early team. We hope to  have more success in the future.”

About her own run, she said, “It was fun. I enjoyed it a lot. I did not do as well as I expected in classic, but in skate I redeemed myself and it felt good.”
