Basketball: Thunder lose at Albany as Wilson scores 1,000th point
Jake Wilson scored his 1,000th point but not much else went Zimmerman’s way as the Thunder lost to the Albany Huskies 80-56 there Tuesday evening.
Wilson, 6-foot-6 senior forward, needed five points to reach the milestone and got there with the first of two free throws after a shooting foul. A three-year starter signed by Minnesota-Duluth, he finished with 23 points.
Albany got 26 points from Scott Lichte and 21 from Zach Raekel. The Huskies beat the Thunder for the second time and improved to 8-3 in the Granite Ridge Conference and 12-8 overall.
Travis Carr added 12 point for Zimmerman (4-6 conference, 8-10 overall). The Thunder were missing point guard Max McNulty due to a concussion.
Zimmerman will play at Princeton on Friday.
