Basketball: Rogers girls upset bid falls short vs. STMA 52-51
The Rogers Royals almost pulled an upset that would have tied them for the conference lead but fell short against St. Michael-Albertville 52-51 on Tuesday evening.
Bobbi Brendefur netted 14 points and Natalie Van Wyhe 12 for STMA, now 6-0 in conference and 18-3 overall.
Taylor Anderson scored 13, Kristen Heikkinen 11, Marina Nowak 11 and Courtney McClay 9 for Rogers (4-2 conference, 13-8 overall).
The Royals will play at Cambridge-Isanti on Friday.
