Third Shiver ready for plunge

The third annual Shiver Elk River will be on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Lake Orono and Handke stadium.

The Elk River Chamber and event sponsors invite everyone out for community and family fun.

A central feature is the Shiver Plunge at 2 p.m, which raises funds for local organizations.  If you aren’t jumping into Lake Orono yourself, there is plenty of fun cheering on the plungers as they take a dip for their favorite charitable causes.

A new addition this year will be the 5K Shiver Shuffle.

There will be another chili cook-off this year. There will also be snow golf, snow volleyball, ice bowling and a fishing game.

There will be hockey in historic Handke stadium.
