The unbeaten Brainerd Warriors visited Rogers on Saturday and quickly quelled any notions of an upset, drubbing the Royals 96-63.
Marcus Comstock scored 31 points, shooting 10-for-13 from the field and 11-for-13 at the line, for Brainerd (14-0). Jack Sauer added 22 points and Jacob Blong 11.
Rogers shot 38 percent, gave up 22 turnovers and got out rebounded 38-30.
Cullen Loughlin sank 20 points for Rogers (5-11). Luke Pecka was next with 11. The Royals were 9-for-25 on 3-pointers.
Brainerd, unranked in Class 4A despite being the division’s lone unbeaten, scored its highest total of the season. The Warriors average 74.
The game was scouted by Elk River coaches and players, as the Elks will play at Brainerd on Saturday afternoon.
Rogers will play at Big Lake on Tuesday.
