Wrestling: Sting hosts tournament, has 2 runners-up
The Spectrum Sting hosted an eight-team invitational on Friday evening and had two of their wrestlers reach the finals.
Sartell-St. Stephen won with 209.5, followed by Sauk Rapids-Rice 180.5, Delano 132.5, Richfield-Edina 119, St. Paul Johnson 93, Columbia Heights 92, Spectrum 80 and BCCA 75.
Spectrum freshman Ryan Kileeen (20-5) was runner-up at 106 pounds, getting pins in 36 and 32 seconds before losing to Delano’s Rucker Sjmomeling 12-6.
Another Sting freshman, Luke Nolden (15-11) was runner-up at 120 with a pin and 8-4 decision before losing to Sauk Rapids-Rice’s Korey Kesky by pin in 1:39 in the finals.
Junior Sam Rogers (15-14) was 2-2 and placed fifth at 126. Sophomore Elliott Uecker (8-19) was 2-2 and placed fifth at 220.
