Hockey: Elk boys hit 3 shorthanded goals in 7-1 win at Anoka

Three shorthanded goals helped Elk River cruise to a 7-1 victory over Anoka on Thursday evening on the Tornadoes’ ice.

The Elks stung Anoka on three of the Tornadoes’ four power plays, with Jake Jaremko, Blake Hillaman and Austin Larson coming through. The Elks were 1-for-2 on their own power plays with Peter Jones scoring.

Jaremko notched two goals and an assist. Wyatt Ege and Kyle Badger had the other goals for the Elks (9-2 conference, 12-8 overall). Maclean Berglove stopped 20 of 21 shots .

The Tornadoes are 3-15-1.

The Elks will play at Maple Grove on Thursday.
