Basketball: Free throw edge lifts Becker over Thunder girls 55-49

The Becker Bulldogs rode a big free throw advantage to a 55-49 win over the Zimmerman Thunder on Friday evening.

The Bulldogs made 20 of 27 at the line while Zimmerman was 5-for-12. Thunder coach Lance Dalbey noted that Zimmerman had 25 fouls to Becker’s 14.

Maureen Tison scored 15 points for Becker (4-5 conference, 5-12 overall).

Lexi Funaro notched 13 points, Lexi Weimeri 12, and Heather McCormick 8 for the Thunder (2-7 conference, 7-10 overall).

Zimmerman will play at Albany on Thursday.
