The Zimmerman Thunder had one champion, Mitch Robinson, and two runners-up, while placing sixth in the Elk River Invitational on Saturday.
Robinson (17-1) at 182 beat Elk River’s Justin Gagnon 8-3 in the finals, after advancing with a bye and a pin.

Mitch Robinson was 182-pound champion.
Robinson has won four tourneys this year and has 116 career wins. His lone loss came against Grand Rapids Jamison Evans, who was state runner-up last year, 8-4 a week earlier at the Zimmerman tournament.
“Mitch loves that stuff — he wants to face the toughest competition there is, even if he has to move up a weight to do it to take on a ranked guy,” said Pat Burch, his coach.
Robinson said: “I cut down 20 pounds to face Jamison and it was really fun. I hope I get a rematch (at state).”
Zimmerman runners-up were Trenton Milless at 126 and Austin May at 170.
Milless (14-9) had a bye and 12-1 win, and lost to D-C’s Tom Keskey 6-2 in the finals.

Hunter Smith (13-5) placed third at 132 and Chase Rosby (11-12) took fourth at 145.
Zimmerman will have a triangular at Big Lake facing the hosts and Little Falls.
