Basketball: Royal boys thump Becker 75-51, conference opener next
Sam Spilles led with a stellar all-around game including 21 points as the Rogers Royals pummeled Becker 75-51 after a slow start at home Tuesday evening.
Spilles, senior forward, also delivered five rebounds, three blocked shots and four steals for Rogers (5-8).
Becker (1-10) led 17-12 before the Royals took control and coasted to a 44-24 halftime lead.
Cullen Loughlin added 10 points and four assists, and Ryan Gelle nine points and nine rebounds, for the Royals.
After 13 non-conference games, Rogers will open Mississippi 8 play on Friday hosting St. Michael-Albertville.
