Basketball: Elk girls repel Armstrong 64-56

The Elk River girls took on an Armstrong team with just one win all year but did not have an easy time. Still, the Elks pulled out a 64-56 win in Robbinsdale on Tuesday evening.

Armstrong worked hard on defense and led by as much as 10 in the first half. The Elks had a 2-point lead at halftime. The game stayed close until the Elks opened a 10-point lead in the last four minutes.

Shelby Gracik netted 17 points, Jordyn Sohns 14, and Anna Rollag 13 for the Elks (6-4 conference, 10-6 overall). Abi Scheid added 9,  Molli Detloff 6 and Jamie Langbehn 5.

Armstrong fell to 1-9 in conference and 1-15 overall.

Elk River will host Centennial on Friday.
