Hockey: Buffalo rallies to beat Rogers boys 4-2
Rogers scored the first two goals but the Buffalo Bison regrouped with a three-goal burst in the second period to beat the Royals 4-2 on Thursday evening in Rogers.
Alexander Lorman scored for Rogers in the first period (Jason Roberge assisting) and Branden Cecil made it 2-0 with a power play goal in the second period (Brandon Spah and Spencer Marchand assisting).
Buffalo countered with goals by Cale Ehresmann (power play), Gunnar Goodmanson, and Jack Patnode (power play) in just 5 1/2 minutes for a 3-2 lead. They stayed in front through the final period and got an empty-netter from Hunter Thompson.
In the nets, Blake Ternus stopped 20 of 23 for Rogers, and Mikey Otten stopped 37 of 39 for Buffalo.
The Royals fell to 1-1 in conference and 5-8-1 overall. Buffalo is 1-0 and 6-7-2.
Rogers will take on Princeton there Tuesday.
