Hockey: Royal girls tie Princeton 2-2

Alleah Baltzer knotted the score with 1:07 left in regulation as the Rogers Royals salvaged a 2-2 tie against the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday evening in Princeton.

Balter, a sophomore forward, knocked in her second goal of the season, with an assist from Mackenzie Perna.

Ellie Fallen had the other goal for Rogers (7-9-3) with assists from Baltzer and Jenna Nelson in the second period.

Scoring for Princeton  (10-4-1) were Larkin Walter and Jordan Blomquist.

Rogers had a 31-18 edge in shots, including 6-3 in the extra session. Princeton goalie Elizabeth Friend made 29 saves and Rogers’ Michelle Klimsra stopped 16 shots. Rogers had no penalties in the game and Princeton three.

Rogers will host Buffalo on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the first game of a conference boy-girl doubleheader.
