Rogers placed third among ten teams at the Brooklyn Center Invitational on Saturday and had one champion.
Cruz Martinez was champion at 126 pounds, beating Tu Ni of St. Paul Central 4-2 in the finals. Martinez, a freshman with a 14-9 record, had two first-period pins to reach finals. It was the first varsity tourney title for Cruz, son of two-time state champion Victor Martinez of Osseo.
Placing third were Philip Anderson at 132 an Ryan Lien at 220. Placing fourth were Connor Larson at 138, Tyler Eicher at 160, and Andrew Piehl at 285. Jake Owens w as fifth at 170 and Jordan Lemcke sixth at 182.
Minnetonka won with 186, followed by Osseo 185.5, Rogers 161.5, Minneapolis Henry 150.5, St. Paul Central 143, South St. Paul 140, Mahtomedi 124.5, Brooklyn Center-Concordia Academy 106, Orono 80.5, Rockforld 56.5.
Rogers will wrestle at Big Lake on Thursday.
