Basketball: St. Francis (9-0) tops Zimmerman boys 89-79

Jake Johnson poured in 36 point as the St. Francis Saints turned back Zimmerman 89-79 in the finals of the Dassel-Cokato tournament on Friday.

Jackson, a 6-foot-7 post, dominated the lanes, while the Saints (9-0) made nine 3-point shots and 16 of 22 free shots.

Jake Wilson scored 24 points,  Max McNulty 15 and Tyler Theisen 10 for Zimmerman (3-4).

The Thunder shot 27-for-57 (47 percent) from the floor, including 6-for-13 on three’s, while faltering at the free throw line, 19-for-31.

Zimmerman will host Albany on Friday.
