Travis Brown’s third goal of the game gave the Rogers Royals a 5-4 overtime win over St. Paul Academy on Thursday in the consolation round of the Schwan Cup Bronze Division tournament.
Brown, junior defenseman, got the hat trick and game-winner 6:43 into the extra session, assisted by Matt Hellickson.
Jacob Walker and Nate Weber had the other goals, Alex Lorman made two assists, and Blake Termus stopped 23 of 27 shots for the Royals (3-6-1), who snapped a six-game losing streak.
Drew Blackman, Justin Jallen, Jared Mickelson and Cameron Clausey scored for SPA (6-4).
The Royals lost their first-round game to Cretin-Derham Hall 3-0 on Wednesday. Brett Huebner had two goals for the Raiders (5-4).
