Basketball: Becker’s 3-point shooting beats Thunder 76-63

The Becker Bulldogs sank 11 three-point shots and picked up their first win 76-63 over the Zimmerman Thunder on Friday evening in Becker.

Jake Wilson scored 31 points for Zimmerman (2-3) and Kristian Bright added 17. Wilson had 13 field goals, including four three-pointers and one dunk, and 1-of-2 free shots.

Becker soph guard Michael Veldman hit six treys and totaled 23 points. Erik Tungland and Josh Nohner added 16 points each for the Thunder (1-5).

Zimmerman (2-3) will meet Dassel-Cokato on Thursday, 7:30 p.m., in the first round of D-C’s four-team holiday tournament.
