Hockey: Eden Prairie scuttles Elk boys 4-3 at Edina event
Elk River’s five-game win streak in boys hockey was snapped by Eden Prairie 4-3 on Thursday evening at the Edina Invitational.
Junior forward Chase Springman scored both goals for the Elks (5-2), in the second and third periods, pulling them within 2-1 and then 3-2, at Braemar Arena. The second goal was assisted by Jake Jaremko and Peter Jones.
Jack Keeley, Andrew Knutson, Harry Pajor (shorthanded) and Steven Spinner punctured the nets for Eden Prairie (3-3).
Eagle goalie Jake Gerdes stopped 18 of 20 shots, while the Elks’ Maclean Berglove stopped 29 of 33.
The Els face Edina on Friday at 8 p.m. and Grand Rapids on Saturday at 6 p.m.
