Kent Werner Driessen, 52, of Cape Coral, FL., formerly of Plymouth, died on December 15, 2012 at the Cape Coral Hospital from accidental drowning.
He was a 1979 graduate of Elk River High School and graduated from North Hennepin Tech School with a degree in culinary arts. He was executive chef at Honeywell. Kent married Pamela Ludwig on December 15, 1980 and they moved to a hobby farm in Glencoe, MN to raise their three children. After 15 years of marriage, Kent went on to pursue his career as executive chef at Lutsen Resort, IKEA and many other eateries in Minnesota.
Kent is survived by his children, Joy Ashwood of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Lyz Alamo of Port Richey, Florida, and Alex Driessen of St. Cloud, MN; 3 grandchildren, Heidi and Trudy Ashwood, and Randy Alamo III; parents, Donald and Lola Driessen of Elk River; siblings, Janell (Tom) Thompson of Elk River, LeAnne (Dwayne) Budreau of Elk River, Michelle (Brian) Boersma, of Marshall, MN, and Nathan (Cheri) of Black Diamond, WA; 12 nieces and nephews and grandnephew, Silas Budreau.
Kent was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Randy Alamo II.
A memorial service will be held at the Elk River Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
