Smith also volunteers at the CAER food shelf and with Meals on Wheels and coordinates The Bank of Elk River helpers at the Riverfront Concert Series in downtown Elk River.

Her other volunteer activities have included serving on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters, volunteering as a money counter at St. Andrew’s Church, being a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and volunteering for the Elk River Mall Association, Volunteer Bridge Expo, Chamber of Commerce and Senior Game Night hosted by The Bank of Elk River.

She was honored at the Monday, Dec. 17, Elk River City Council meeting where Mayor John Dietz told her: “Thank you for all your hard work. We appreciate it.”
