Elk River breezed to a 62-29 victory over a struggling Blaine Bengals squad at home Tuesday evening.
Junior guard Shelby Gracik tallied 18 points, leading nine Elks in the scoring column. Jayme Langbehn, freshman forward, notched nine points (5-for-6 on free shots) and freshman center Abi Scheid had eight points and 14 rebounds.
The Elks had four 3-pointers, two by Gracik, and made 13 of 28 free shots. Their defensive pressure led to a stream of breakaway baskets in the first half, which ended with the Elks up 34-9.
The Elks are 3-2 in the NWSC and 6-3 overall. Blaine dropped to 0-8.
The Elks will play at Andover on Thursday evening.
