Local builder appointed to Elk River HRA; three other reappointments made

Dennis Chuba has been appointed to a five-year term on the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA). He replaces Jean Lieser, who did not seek reappointment.
Chuba is in construction sales with Chuba Home Improvement in Elk River. He is semi-retired.
He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and has been involved in residential and light commercial construction for 40 years.
Chuba is the past president of the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce, served as president of the local and state builder associations and has been a board member of the Elk River Area Arts Alliance and Elk River Community Theater.
Mayor John Dietz recommended Chuba be appointed to the HRA; the City Council approved the appointment Monday, Dec. 17.
Other appointments also approved by the council include:
•Dan Tveite was reappointed to the Elk River Economic Development Authority (EDA). His new term expires in 2018.
A supply chain manager with Wells Fargo, Tveite has been on the EDA for 12 years and currently is the president.
•Willie Jackson was reappointed to a three-year term on the Elk River Library Board. Jackson is the founder, president and CEO of Reflective Resource Inc. She was first appointed to the library board in 2011.
•Nicole Novotny was reappointed to a three-year term on the Elk River Library Board. She is the director of human resources at Guardian Angels of Elk River. Novotny has been on the library board since 2011.
