After serving on the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) since 2001, Jean Lieser did not seek reappointment.
Her term ends Dec. 31. Dennis Chuba has been appointed to replace her.
HRA Chairman Stewart Wilson said he has appreciated Lieser’s insight and will miss her.
“Jean always spoke very practically but also from the heart,” he said. “She was a wonderful person to have on the HRA.”
Wilson said Lieser was appointed by former Mayor Stephanie Klinzing and was very interested in housing and especially affordable-type housing.
“She’s a very caring person. That always came out in her remarks,” Wilson said of Lieser.
Lieser was recognized for her years of service at the HRA meeting earlier this month.
At that meeting, Lieser said it has been an honor to be on the HRA.
“I’ve loved working with all of you. I’ve loved the unity on the board…,” she said.
HRA Member Larry Toth said Lieser has had some very keen insights at some critical moments and has been a valuable committee member.
