Basketball: Thunder boys fend off Hibbing 54-51

The Zimmerman Thunder handed Hibbing a 54-51 loss  Friday evening in Hibbing.

Kristian Bright scored 15 points, including a layup with five seconds left for the clincher. Mac McNultly scored 13.

The Thunder (2-1) led 42-29 before the Bluejackets (2-2) stormed backhand got as close as two points . Colin Kemp scored 19 for Hibbing with five 3-pointers.

On a northern weekend trip to face section rivals, the Thunder will play at No. 10 ranked Grand Rapids on Saturday, 3 p.m.
