North Ballet’s new-look “Nutcracker” coming Saturday to Zabee Theatre
North Ballet of Rogers will present its third annual “Nutcracker” on Saturday at 1 and 4:30 p.m. at ERHS Zabee Theater.
This one will have a whole new look under a new director, Bolshoi Ballet-trained Breanna Dvorak.
“We’ll have lots of new things,” she said. “New backdrops, almost all new costumes, new choreography. New director!”
Added Katie Kocinski, the school’s owner: “It will snow during the snowflake scene! We haven’t done that before.”
Plus, Land of Lakes Choir Boys will join the performance for the first time, singing during the snow scene.
McKenna Paine, 11, of Rogers will play Clara. Guest professionals Arolyn Williams and Christopher Sellars, of Ballet West, will play Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker Prince, respectively.
