Kaylee Jondahl was all-around leader with 37.65 points as the Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman gymnasts beat Maple Grove 138.575 to 126.425 on Wednesday evening at home.
The Elks raised their team score for the third time in three outings, and posted the program’s 36th consecutive dual meet win. They’re 3-0 in duals this year.
Highlight for the Elks was five “stuck” beam routines.
“So proud of the girls. We went 5-for-5 on varsity beam. No falls!” said coach Jackie Deiley, adding that they had some wobbles they’ll continue to work on. “This early in the season, I’m happy with where our team is at.”
Jondahl all four events including vault with 9.425 for a pike suke and bars with 9.675.
“Solid meet for Jondahl. We’ll keep working hard at practice and see if we can’t clean up some of her dance elements on beam and floor,” said the coach.
Earning second-places were Katie Fleck on vault with 8.5 for a tuck suke (her first time doing vault this year) and Krista Kovar with 8.625 on bars.
“Krista has been working hard to clean up a few form breaks,” said Deiley, “and it really showed up tonight.”
Kendra Hambleton placed third on floor with 8.775.
“Great routine for Kendra. She really cleaned up her form this week,” said the coach.
The Elks scored big on beam as Morgan Wallmow, Jessica Sadlowsky, Kover, Fleck and Jondahl, in that order, all stayed upright.
