Hockey: Andover girls beat Elks 6-1

The Andover Huskies had stellar special-teams play as they thumped Elk River-Zimmerman 6-1 on Saturday evening in Elk River.

Paige Dale had the hat trick for the Huskies (8-3), including a shorthanded goal. Rebecca Voltin and Sierra Langlie closed the scoring with power play goals. The other goal was scored by Mikayla Goodin.

McKenna Wesloh got the Elks on the board with a shorthanded goal in the third period with the Elks down 5-0.

Elk goalie Kim Scott faced 56 shots, stopping 50. Andover’s Maddie Rooney saved 14 of 15.

The Elks (1-6-1) will play at Maple Grove on Tuesday
